OVERVIEW: The Summer Day Camp Recreation Aide is primarily responsible for assisting in the Turlock Corps Community Center Summer Day Camp Program and assisting in recreational sports programs.
The Summer Day Camp Recreation Aide will be responsible for assisting the activity center coordinator in planning and supervising various portions of the Summer Day Camp programming.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Liaison between staff, parents, and public volunteer groups when the activity center Coordinator is out of the office Coordinate and implement the Christian education program Responsible for making sure all the necessary supplies for the Christian education program Help to plan and implement a disciplinary system Attend all staff meetings Keep open communication with parents, summer day camp kids, activity center coordinator, and Corps Officer(s) Keep current on new programs, techniques, and equipment as resources permit Keep the activity center coordinator informed of activities, equipment, and facility needs Ensure all equipment is properly stored at the end of each activity/program Develop high-quality programs to meet the recreational needs of the community within the resources available Responsible for the children at all times during summer day camp program hours Bring all serious discipline problems to the attention of the activity center coordinator Record any incidents with appropriate forms Willingness to call Child Protective Services and/or police when needed Responsible for helping develop and implement recreational and athletic events in conjunction with the activity center coordinator Responsible for set-up and clean-up of all areas used in programming, as needed Responsible for assisting with keeping statistics of summer day camp programs, recreational programming, and events Other related duties as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent (required) 18 years of age (required) CPR and First Aid certification (required) Experience working with children SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work with a diverse background Team player Great communication skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
