Summary of Job Purpose
The goals of this position are to uphold and work towards the goals of the DASH program.
The goals of the DASH program are to build athletes that are passionate about the mountains, are positive ambassadors of Dodge Ridge and are developing a life-long love of snowsports.
This will be accomplished through Cooperative Coaching, terrain-based learning, safety (demonstrating Skier + Rider Responsibility Code), and fun.
The team will explore a variety of terrain including off-piste and ungroomed conditions.
Members will grow and learn by supporting each other, cooperating on team drills, and identifying how to make strategic decisions on the hill to become more successful skiers.
Their knowledge and respect for the mountain makes each team member an ambassador of Dodge Ridge, so while they are learning the mountain, the team will learn and demonstrate the Skier + Rider Responsibility Code.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Duties: All Duties will be directed and monitored by a supervising Coach
Follow direction and instructions from Program Director.
Lead by example, promote teamwork, trust, and respect.
Enforce all safety rules.
Provide strong leadership and communication to DASH athletes to promote a positive learning experience.
Effectively communicate with parents regarding the progress of the DASH athletes
Complete end of session coaches reports and support athletes in completing end of day athlete reports.
Report any problems, schedule changes or questions immediately.
Assist with providing athletes positive reinforcement, lessons in good sportsmanship, and by setting a good example at all times.
Ability to lead multiple athletes through off piste and all terrain skiing with a positive attitude while maintaining effective control of the group.
Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
This involves courteous interactions with guests, and answering questions professionally.
Maintain any appropriate records as set forth by company policy and procedures.
Job Qualifications
Ability to read and to write legibly and to use good composition skills to complete records and report forms.
Good organizational skills.
Must be aware of the ski areas terrain and facilities.
Experience or education (preferred)
Level - 1 PSIA Certification
Level - 100 USSA Coaching Certification.
Competitive ski racing experience
Understanding of technical knowledge to explain the fundamentals of skiing.
Advanced to expert skiing ability on ALL Terrain and in ALL conditions.
The ability to safely and skillfully ski down expert terrain.
Willingness to work during extreme weather conditions.
Safety and risk oriented.
Heavy and awkward lifting up to 50lbs.
Must be 17 years of age or older

Work Schedules
Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.
Weekends and Holidays.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time.
Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.
Working Conditions
At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.
Uniforms
A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required.
Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift.
We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job.
However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below.
The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work.
All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.

Watch
Sunglasses
Goggles
Gloves
Appropriate Cold weather layering system (Capilene, etc)
Ski equipment that passes a binding function test.
Be aware you are responsible for any damage to your equipment while at work.
The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees.
You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
