This job will require excellence in the following sorts of work: * HR duties including training staff in firm procedures and software systems; supervising support staff; recruiting non-attorney staff; conducting performance evaluations; handling discipline and termination of non-attorney staff as needed * Prepare and post jobs and assist in the interviewing process * Managing onboarding of new employees * Employee performance review, 90 days and annual * Maintain employee records * Managing the day-to-day operations of the office * Managing equipment, office supplies and communication with vendors * Participating in the strategic planning process with management to identify and accomplish short- and long-term organizational goals.
* Client billing * Schedule meetings with staff and send emails regarding office improvements and updates * Assist firm owner and bookkeeper with accounting tasks, including updates * Prepare bank deposits * Organize office events The person we hire will be self-reliant.
This person will ask questions but will never make excuses.
Our Rock Star Office Manager will be a strong leader with the ability to influence others and will have: * 5+ years of office management experience.
Legal experience is preferred but not required.
* Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written * Strong understanding of all functional aspects of operations, strategic planning, and finance * Strong attention to detail The person we hire will be very comfortable working on a computer, using the Internet, and generally can find a way to get something done.
A college degree is preferred, as is prior experience in a law firm, but this is not required.
Most importantly, the person we hire will approach every part of this job with an open mind and have a willingness to learn "our way" of doing things.
