The Shift Lead oversees processes in our Dining Services department to ensure that food and service is of the highest level of quality.
This key position is responsible for the overall setup, service, and cleanup of the dining room and kitchen, as well as adhering to our commitment of providing excellent customer service and high-quality food to our residents, guests, visitors, and staff.
Specific duties include: assisting with department scheduling; working in the kitchen or dining room when needed; assisting with coordinating events including scheduling, décor, reservations, and seating arrangements; implementing updates to the POS; leading department meetings; placing orders with vendors; providing new hire training; and ensuring that sanitation procedures are being followed.
*Required skills and abilities include:*
* Experience working in a professional restaurant or kitchen
* Time spent leading a team
* Proficiency with, and aptitude to learn, POS systems
* Stellar customer service background
* Ability to perform a range of simultaneous duties
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to work independently
* Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
