Job Description
Pay Range: $202,500 to $238,500 per year
Provide overall direction and management to the Ellenwood and Cedar hatchery locations.
Responsible for the development of all employees including the management team.
This role is responsible for ensuring the facilities have trained, proficient, well-motivated workforce that accomplishes meeting department goals on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
Responsible for Cedar and Ellenwood hatcheries and meeting department goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
This is accomplished through direct management at facilities.
Directly responsible for the development and training of supervisors and managers, working within the guidelines of good employee relations and company policies and procedures.
Responsible for the long-term strategy for optimizing utilization of the facilities, based on projected forecasts.
Responsible for researching and implementing technologies to streamline process and positively affect both quality and cost efficiencies.
Qualifications
BS Degree in poultry science, engineering, or business.
5+ years' experience in managing a poultry hatchery.
Experience in chicken live production preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing and must have strong interpersonal skills.
Balanced technical, mechanical, and human resource knowledge.
Able to evaluate line and exempt employees fairly and objectively.
Ability to interface on a daily basis with all support groups or departments.
Must adhere to disease control policies.
Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends
