Job Summary Ensures that all equipment is operating effectively and efficiently and will provide technical expertise to plant operations.
Performs preventative maintenance and repair, services equipment as scheduled or needed.
Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical hydraulic, and electrical equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, golf carts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts, and boom lift equipment.
Essential Job Functions Provide maintenance support to entire facility effectively and efficiently.
Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
Read and understand operating manuals, troubleshooting guides, and wiring schematics.
Test mechanical product and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufactures specifications.
Rapid response to maintenance related issues by quickly resolving problems and making necessary adjustments as needed to maintain safety, product integrity, and production efficiencies.
Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
Perform preventive/predictive maintenance, rebuild, and replace defective parts and component units such as: motors, gear boxes, clutches, bearings, and electrical components as needed.
Reassemble and make final equipment adjustments.
Complete simple fabrication of machine parts as required, and requisition repair parts as needed.
Perform calibrations on electrical, electronic equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions.
Record and document according to procedures.
Assist outside contractors with on-site projects and repairs.
Demonstrate a cooperative effort to train and assist operators and peers in all aspects of equipment maintenance and operation, problem identification and problem-solving skills.
Participate in team meetings; suggest changes in work tasks and use of equipment to increase efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
Foster positive teamwork.
Ensure safe operations through adherence to environmental, health, and safety programs and procedures.
Strict adherence to housekeeping.
Cleans work areas upon completing a project and plant GMPs and in alignment with SQF requirements.
Has a responsibility to support and assist in the execution of the Food Safety and Quality Systems.

Experience with car and diesel truck repairs Must furnish own personal hand tools.
Forklift Mechanic Experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
Basic knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Experience with power and hand tools.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a production mechanic Work Environment Must be able to work in a manufacturing factory & various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
Physical Demands This is a highly physical role and will require constant fine manipulation with both hands, often standing, often walking, and will require lifting up to 40 pounds regularly.
Must have the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, climb stairs, and walk as needed on the manufacturing floor and warehouse.
Must wear personal protective equipment as defined/required by job assignments.
