JOB SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for conducting market research and analysis to help develop recommendations to drive purchasing decisions.
Ensures that contracts with suppliers are consistent with business objectives; supplies are ordered and on hand to meet business needs and objectives.
Participates in contract negotiations with suppliers to secure consistent supplies and materials at competitive prices.
MAJOR DUTIES: Works with Supply Chain Manager to develop objectives, strategies and purchasing plans.
Identify and implement plans to reduce raw material costs year over year.
Document, quantify and track achievements.
Financial impact must be measurable and of significance.
Locate, analyze, and develop new supply chains to meet current and future needs.
Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for current and future needs.
Identify other cost reduction / operational efficiency opportunities in addition to RM purchasing Liaise with Supply Chain Manager in areas of global initiatives and improvements in the supply chain of purchasing.
Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process.
Participates in contract negotiations with suppliers to obtain contracts that are consistent with business objectives, includes external warehousing and freight logistics.
Manages and optimizing supplier performance, including continuous improvement, innovations, quality, obsolescence and reduction in total cost supply chain.
Ensures that supplies / materials are ordered and on hand to meet business needs and inventory requirements in order to avoid shortages.
Coordinate with Operations the requirement and availability of raw materials to support production plans and customer requirements Develop and/or disseminate market data, long range plans, and current supply status within company to facilitate business decisions.
Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management preferred 5+ years experience in Supply Chain Management Solid knowledge of agricultural product life cycles Solid experience in a manufacturing business Knowledge of managing planning, logistics, warehousing and inventory management Experience with utilizing MRP system (JDE experience preferred) Demonstrable track record in Project Management and Logistics APICS Certification is a plus SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication Self-motivated and driven, proactive with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment Superior analytical skills to drive increased performance Positive attitude, motivator inside and outside Supply Chain department Advanced computer skills, experience with an MRP system Strong ethics Willing to travel approximately 10 % of the time Critical thinking and problem solving skills Multilingual a strong plus; Spanish PRINCIPAL CONTACTS/KEY CUSTOMERS: External customers Internal customers (Sales, Production, Quality, Finance, Product Management and Product Development) Director, General Manager, Group/Corporate Supply Chain Co-packers and Suppliers Toll and legal authorities ACCOUNTABILITIES/METRICS: Customer: On Time in Full of >96% Financial: Department budget Warehouse cost Inventory Goal The salary range for this position is $64,350 - $107,250 USD.
Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, and labor markets.
